About the Oregon TechAwards
The program was established in 1984 by the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America when the first High Technology Good Scout Award was presented to Douglas C. Strain of Electro Scientific Industries. In 1987, the award was renamed the Technology Executive of the Year Award and in 2007 TechAmerica Oregon assumed leadership of this Oregon Technology Industry tradition. Since then, the night provides an opportunity to invest in our future innovators with proceeds from the evening going to support math, science and technology education.
The 2011 TechAwards program generated over $12,500 for the Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP).
The 2010 TechAwards program generated over $12,500 for the Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP) and over $2,200 for Chess for Success.
The 2009 TechAwards program generated over $12,500 for the Oregon Robotics Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP).
